SMART Researchers
Future-proof your research path.
We support the next generation of researchers with structured training, mentorship, and cross-sector mobility – building a skilled community ready to lead scientific, economic, and societal change across Europe.
How will SMART Researchers help?
The SMART Researchers project is dedicated to building sustainable talent development ecosystems for Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) in Widening Countries. By promoting HR practices aligned with the European Framework for Research Careers and the European Charter for Researchers, we aim to enhance working conditions and provide a robust capacity-building framework.
The approach also includes micro-credentialing and certification based on the European Competence Framework for Researchers (ReserchComp), helping ESRs acquire and showcase the advanced skills needed to thrive in interoperable careers. With a focus on the green and digital transitions, SMART Researchers equips the next generation of scientists to meet the evolving demands of research and innovation in Europe.
Why is this a priority?
SMART RESEARCHERS is not just a project – it’s a shift in how Europe does science. By combining advanced infrastructures, open data principles, and responsible knowledge sharing, the project offers:
Transparency
Open access to publications and data builds trust and accountability.
Efficiency
Open data sharing prevents duplication and accelerates innovation.
Global Leadership
Advanced infrastructures strengthen Europe’s role in research and technology.
Evidence-Based Policies
Reliable research empowers better decisions at every level.
