Institute for Development and International Relations

About the Institute for Development and International Relations

The Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), founded by the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in 1963, conducts research across social sciences, including economics, political science, and sociology. Emphasising interdisciplinary approaches, IRMO forms research teams tailored to specific project needs. Its work is structured around three programme lines: international political relations and security, addressing Croatia’s role in global and regional challenges; economic development, European integration, and regional cooperation; and culture, communication, and media, exploring the interplay of globalisation, local cultural changes, and contemporary social processes. IRMO contributes to knowledge, policy, and regional development through rigorous, applied research.

Role in the Project

IRMO will lead WP5, translating project outcomes into evidence-based policy recommendations and strategic briefs to support sustainable career development across the ERA.
